Judge Bravo announces run for new District 5 JP

Who will be Pinal County’s first District 5 JP?

In the coming days, the voters of the copper communities will elect the District Five Justice of the Peace. Many of you know me as the JP for Superior and Kearny, or perhaps as the previous town magistrate in Hayden or Superior. I’ve presided over countless cases in our small town court rooms, and our local county court houses.

I didn’t get acquainted with the Copper Area from the judicial bench, however. Like most of us, I’m from this community, had a career in the copper mine, met and married my wife here, and raised three fine sons in the Copper Basin.

My interest in the law started first as a police officer, long before I had the opportunity to spend a dozen years as a JP. In my time as a local policeman, and as a Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputy, I made it my priority to get involved in the community. I was a volunteer fireman, a little league coach, and an instructor at Central Arizona College. Yet, I enjoyed most when I could combine police work with teaching the D.A.R.E. Program in our area schools. Our children’s futures and raising them in a safe environment, continue to matter greatly to me, just as much today as it did then.

For more than 60 years, I’ve been proud of our communities’ work ethic, our commitment to making our towns safe, the effort to keep drugs out, and the spirit of honesty we’ve built with one another throughout the copper area.

And so, when a case comes before me in the Justice Court, I bring my life experience and love of our small towns to the job. As a judge, I strive for absolute fairness in the courtroom because it is right to do so, and because it is what we all deserve from our local court.

On August 28th, I ask for your vote so that I may serve four more years as Justice of the Peace. Your support in previously electing me JP for three terms, has been the greatest honor of my life. Thank you.

/s/ Judge Larry Bravo
