Joanne Lown

Joanne P. Lown passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 20, 2018.

Joanne was born March 8, 1937 in Binghamton, New York to John and Elizabeth Lown. She is survived by her two brothers, Jim and John Lown.

In 1952, she was married to Eugene McGovern and had 3 children, Sherry, Gene and Nathan (Tom).  They lived in Kearny, AZ.

Joanne worked as a librarian at the Kearny library for many years. She was loved by everyone who knew her.

Later she moved to Prescott, AZ, where most of her family was living.   For the past eight years, she has lived with her granddaughter, Shannon, Shannon’s husband Rich, and her two great-grandchildren, Chance and Cody, after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

She was known as Granny everywhere she went. Everyone loved Granny. She was the kindest woman you could ever know.

Joanne leaves behind two granddaughters, Shannon and Lacey; great-grandchildren, Chance, Cody, Joanne (who was named after her) and Dylan; and three great-great-grandchildren, Hayden, Riker, and Baby Kooper.

Her family was everything to her and we will all miss her so much but we know she is at peace in heaven now.

  Forever in our Hearts.
