Jenny Sermeno Gutierrez

Jenny Sermeno Gutierrez entered into rest May 22, 2019 at her home in Superior, surrounded by her loving family. Jenny finally lost her battle due to kidney failure.

Jenny was born in Miami, Arizona on May 15, 1929, to parents Antonio and Magalina Sermeno. Soon after her parents died, Jenny and her brothers, Tony, Lino, and Jess, and her sister Inez, moved in with their Uncle Mike and Aunt Grace Rivera. They grew up at the Rivera Ranch in Miami with their cousins, Paul, Danny, Connie, Arturo, Belia and Wimpy.

After graduation from Miami High School, Jenny met Tony “Sepio” Gutierrez and on April 15, 1950 they married. They moved to Superior and had 3 children; sons, Tony Jr. and Bobby, and daughter, Donna. After 56 years of marriage, Tony went home to be with the Lord.

Jenny’s greatest accomplishments were evident in the love she shared with her husband Tony and children, family, and friends. Jenny was a beautiful, generous, caring lady, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to cook and dance.

Jenny is preceded in death by her husband Tony, mother Magalina, Father Antonio, sister Inez Tapia, brothers Toy, Jess, and Lino Sermeno, Aunt Grace Rivera, Uncle Mike Rivera, Cousins Connie, Paul, Danny, Arturo.

Jenny is survived by her sons, Tony (Patsy), Bobby (Vera) and daughter, Donna of Superior. She is also survived by granddaughters, Vanessa (George) Fernandez, Adriann (Chris) Martin, Christie Mayhew; grandson, Anthony Gutierrez; great-grandchildren, Mario Lant, Justin and Adrianna Ramirez, Ava and Brody Martin, and many more.

Our mother will be greatly missed by all, but we are comforted knowing that she is resting peacefully and no longer in pain.

Services will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Superior, AZ on Thursday, May 30, 2019. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m.. She will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery.
