Islava wins Spelling Bee

Kayla Islava out spelled all in the H-W Schools Spelling Bee held recently to become this year’s champ. Second place was claimed by Jacob Carrasco and coming in third was Cassandra Lopez. Alternate is Miranda Gomez.

The group will travel to Payson Feb. 8 to compete in the Gila County Spelling Bee. Spelling will take place at the Payson High School Auditorium from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and the student check in will begin at 12:30 p.m.
