In response to Mr. Rios

I have a few questions/items to address from last week’s Letter To The Editor by Pete Rios:

Item 1:  Mr. Rios wrote that I have accused him of colluding with other spvsrs. in previous emails that have been publicized.    I CHALLENGE HIM TO SHOW PROOF OF SAID PUBLICATIONS.

Item 2:  He also stated that he had an “Open Door” policy for all.  Can he advise us where that door is?   I have asked many long term residents as to its location and couldn’t get an answer.

Item 3:  Not only could these same residents NOT tell me where that door was, but they couldn’t tell me the last time that the spvsr. had held a Town Hall Mtg. in Oracle, San Manuel nor Mammoth.  I find that strange, especially after the event with the govt. bringing in many Undocumented Central American youths without any warning last summer,  which resulted in a National Protest by approx. 250 concerned residents.  An event so impassioned that it created a major rift within the Tri-Community area and to this day, still has a residual effect.  Where is the leadership Mr. Rios?  Did you even once meet with your constituents to try and mediate these concerns? I’ve been told that you did make it down to put up a sign welcoming the illegal youth.

What did happen, is that several of these residents, after much negotiation, met with authorities from the Syc. Canyon Academy and worked out the problems for themselves and their community.  Many  months after the event!  Much of the anxiety,  trepidation,  etc. has all been mediated.   No thanks to you,  Mr. Rios.
