Horace Walton “Walt” Odom

  Horace Walton “Walt” Odom Sr. passed away on June 14, 2018 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He was born July 13, 1928 in Bogalusa, Louisiana to John and Mary Davis Odom.

  Walt was the owner and founder of Walt’s Jewelers in Kearny, as well as the Founder and Pastor of Copper Valley Christian Center for many years. 

  Those who knew Walt, knew he never met a stranger. Walt always had a hug and a smile for everyone and made sure everyone knew to make it to Heaven. “Live Heaven Ready”, he would always say. He is there waiting to hug us all.

  Walt is survived by his wife of 13 years, Juanita Parks Odom, daughter Joy Odom Bush and son-in-law Steve Bush, son Sam Odom and daughter-in-law Melissa Odom, son Horace Walton Odom Jr. and daughter-in-law Anita Odom, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

  He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years Shirley Ann Leilani Miller Odom, his parents, 2 sisters and 7 brothers.

  A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held for Walt at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Life Community Church, 717 N Ray Road in Gilbert, AZ

  A small funeral service was held on June 17, 2018 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas with Texas family and church friends.
