Panthers girls’ basketball players Amber Hernandez and Kiara Romero were each named Player of the Game last week in games versus San Manuel and Ray, respectively.
Hernandez, a senior, scored 12 of the Panthers’ 15 points in a loss to San Manuel. She scored nine points from three-point range. She also had three rebounds in the game.
Romero scored 15 points in a loss against Ray. She was 2 for 4 from three-point range and 3 for 4 from the free-throw line. Romero, a senior, also had five rebounds in the game.
Despite the outstanding play from Hernandez and Romero, the Panthers dropped both games last week and have now lost four games in a row.
Junior Cierra Navarrette continues to dominate the boards as she collected a combined 18 rebounds in two games.
The Panthers will look to end their losing streak in a game at Hayden on December 17, 2013, before playing a home game against Miami on December 20. Both games begin at 5:30 p.m.
