Helen Adams Mansager died May 20, 2015 in Portland, Oregon, where she lived, after a
brief illness. She was 59. Helen was preceded in death by her brother Victor and parents Zigi and Jeanie Adams, who lived in San Manuel. Zigi worked for Magma in the 60’s and 70’s.
Tri-Community members may remember Helen helping them in the garden department of the Oro Valley Home Depot where she shared her intense love of plants and gardening.
“You can’t live without plants,” she declared in elementary school to her big sister Maria as she was learning about the food chain and cycle of life from Maria’s high school biology books.
Helen is survived by her children Ryan (Edward) and Alyssa Drew (Macrina) Mansager, as well as her sister Maria Thweatt of Houston and brother Andy (Carol) Adams of Tucson. She was aunt to more than 12 nieces and nephews who will also “keep her memory alive forever.”
