Hayden Police Report

According to state law, there are two methods by which police may arrest suspected offenders. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damages are estimates. Items for this report are submitted by the Hayden Police Department and reflect information available at the time of the report.

June 15

A report was received of a handcuffed male subject who fled from the custody of a HPD officer. He is wanted for custodial interference/DV, resisting arrest, escape and theft.

A report was taken and a citation was issued for disorderly conduct/DV and threatening and intimidating/DV.

A suspicious vehicle was reported on the 100 block of 4th St. in Winkelman.

Agency assist with a medical problem on the 600 block of Utah Ave.

June 16

A fight was reported on the 100 block of 4th St. in Winkelman.

Agency assist to DPS with traffic control during a traffic accident investigation.

Criminal damage was reported on the 600 block of Rock Dr. Several windows were found broken.

Agency assist with a medical problem on 4th St./Randall in Winkelman.

Agency assist to Kearny Police Department with a report of a possibly intoxicated driver on Hwy 177.

June 17

Theft of services was reported on the 700 block of Cottonwood.

An attempt to locate was conducted on the male escapee who had previously fled from custody of an HPD officer. He was located at a residence in Winkelman. He was transported to Globe and booked into the Gila County Jail. While at the residence another subject was arrested, transported and booked into the Gila County Jail for DV/assault and hindering a law enforcement investigation.

June 18

A possible domestic violence situation was reported in the area of Hwy 177 and Giffin in Winkelman.

Agency assist with a medical problem on the 100 block of 1st Ave in Hayden.

June 19

Agency assist to CPS with a child welfare check on San Pedro Ave.

Follow-up was conducted on a burglary case on San Pedro Ave.

An officer appeared before Grand Jury in reference to a child molestation case he had been assigned to.

Traffic radar was conducted on Hwy 177/Velasco.

A verbal dispute was reported on the 2nd Ave in Hayden.

June 20

A hit and run was reported on the 500 block of Randall in Winkelman. A vehicle had backed into a parked vehicle. All but one of the occupants exited the vehicle and ran prior to the officer’s arrival. A male subject was cited and released for underage consumption. The investigation is ongoing.

June 21

Agency assist to Kearny Ambulance with a medical problem on Sunnyslope in Hayden.

June 22

Citizen assist with a report of a foul odor at a residence on the 200 block of Mt. View.

June 23

A report of a possible stolen vehicle was taken. It was determined owner had given the driver permission to use the vehicle.

June 24

Report of a medical problem on the 200 block of Mt. View.

Agency assist to Winkelman Fire Department with an alarm drop at Hayden High School.

A dog at large was reported on the 500 block of Velasco.

A non-injury accident was reported in the Town of Hayden parking lot.

A burglary was reported on the 200 block of Lower Rd.

June 25

A domestic disturbance was reported on the 200 block of 1st St. in Winkelman.

A security check was performed on abandoned and burned out buildings along San Pedro Ave and Rock Dr.

Agency assist to Kearny Ambulance with a medical on 200 block of Quarelli St. in Winkelman.

June 26

A report was received of possible brush fire on Asarco property. It was determined to be a contained rubbish fire. Hayden Fire Department was called and employees monitored the flames.

Citizen assist was requested on the 200 block of Quarelli St. in Winkelman.

A 911 call was investigated on the 100 block of 13th St. in Hayden.

Agency assist to Kearny Ambulance with a medical call on the 700 block of Hayden Ave.

June 27

Report of an illegal sale attempt of a quad was taken.

Theft was reported in the area of mp 141 on Hwy 77. The case was referred to the Gila County Sheriff Office.
