The ninth-ranked Lobos rebounded nicely following last week’s shutout loss against Superior by defeating NFL Yet Academy last Friday night, 48 – 14.
The Lobos are now 4 – 2 with a pair of games remaining in the regular season.
“It was a hard fought battle and we expected no less because NFL Yet was back at full force,” Hayden assistant coach Daniel Cruz wrote in an email to Copper Basin News. “We are finally clicking and taking one game at a time.”
With wins in their final two games – at Ft. Thomas and home versus Ray – the Lobos are almost assured of reaching the playoffs for a second-consecutive year.
“In order to make the playoffs we must stay focused on the main things,” Cruz said. “Perfect effort at practice, improve our blocking and tackling schemes, and remain focused on game night.”
Up next: Hayden at Ft. Thomas on Thursday, Oct. 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
