Hayden knocks Lady ‘Cats out of the running for state championship

Softball – The ‘Cats won their first-round playoff game versus Williams, 10 – 0. The first-round triumph setup a second-round contest versus rival Hayden. Hayden entered the state championships as the seventh seed. Ray was seeded tenth. Unfortunately, Hayden defeated the Bearcats, 5 – 0. The ‘Cats finished their season with a 17 – 6 record.

Baseball – The sixth-seeded Bearcats’ baseball team earned a bye in the first round. Their first playoff game was a second-round contest versus Northland Prep Academy from Flagstaff, AZ. The ‘Cats came out swinging and dominated Northland Prep in the 11 – 1 victory. The second-round victory set up a quarterfinal matchup against Phoenix Christian. Despite a late-game rally, the Bearcats came up short and were defeated, 9 – 6. The loss ended the ‘Cats season with a record of 19 – 8.
