Hayden graduates receive diplomas and, for some, thousands of dollars in scholarships

Hayden High School graduates were rewarded for all their hard work with thousands of dollars in scholarships and awards during the annual commencement program held last Friday evening.

Receiving recognition were:

Valedictorian Melinda Marinez, CAC Academic Scholarship full tuition for four semesters; C.A.C Promise for the Future, full tuition for four semesters; Asarco, $1,000; Aaron/David Lagunas Scholarship, $300; Adriana Cruz Memorial Scholarship, $250; Saddlebrooke Community Outreach Scholarship, $4,800; Copper Basin Chamber of Commerce Scholarship, $100; Cobre Valley Auxiliary Scholarship, $2,000; Gilbert Chavez Memorial Scholarship, $800.

Salutatorian Marlisse Perez, CAC Academic Scholarship, full tuition for four semesters; CAC Promise for the Future, full tuition for four semesters; Asraco Scholarship, $1,000; Kearny Elks Lodge Scholarship, $200; Knights of Columbus Scholarship, $500; Cindy Magallanez Memorial Scholarship, $1,000; Adriana Cruz Memorial Scholarship, $250; Saddlebrooke Community Outreach Scholarship, $4,800; Copper Basin Chamber of Commerce Scholarship, $300; Wendy’s Heisman Scholarship; 2013 BHP Billiton Pinto Valley Scholarship, $10,000 per year renewable for four years with a total of $40,000.

Edward Aguirre, CAC Promise for the Future, full tuition for four semesters; Asarco Manager’s Scholarship, $700; St. Joseph’s Scholarship, $350; Always Tomorrow Veronica Xochitl Estrada Scholarship; Gina C. Campos Scholarship, $250; Asarco Employee Funded Scholarship, renewable for four years; Saddlebrooke Community Outreach Scholarship, $4,800; Garcia Family Scholarship, $300; Law Related Education Scholarship, $250.

Alexis Felix, CAC Promise for the Future, full tuition for four semesters; Asarco Scholarship, $500; Familia Scholarship, $500; Adriana Cruz Memorial Scholarship, $250; Saddlebrooke Community Outreach Scholarship; $4,800; Copper Basin Chamber of Commerce, $100; Asarco Employee Funded Scholarship renewable for four years.

Danielle Patton, CAC Academic Scholarship, full tuition for four semesters; C.A.C Promise for the Future, full tuition for four semesters; Asarco Scholarship, $500; Saddlebrooke Community Outreach Scholarship, $4,800; Pinal Gila Community Child Services; University of Arizona, $4,300 per academic year.

Lainey Lopez, CAC Promise for the Future, full tuition for four semesters; Copper Basin Chamber of Commerce, $300.

Bianca Lopez, CAC Promise for the Future, full tuition for four semesters; HWEA Scholarship, $500; Pinal Gila Community Child Services.

Ashley Cruz, CAC Promise for the Future, full tuition for four semesters; Adriana Cruz Memorial Scholarship, $250.

Wyatt Formo, CAC Promise for the Future, full tuition for four semesters; Asarco Employees Funded Scholarship, renewable for four years.

Roman Padilla, CAC Promise for the Future, full tuition for four semesters; Law Related Education Scholarship, $250; Copper Basin Chamber of Commerce, $300.

Jeremy Holyoak, Copper Basin Railway Scholarship, $500.

Adrian Ochoa, Gomecindo u Jesus Cruz Family Memorial Scholarship, $250.

Matthew Martinez, Gomecindo u Jesus Cruz Family Memorial Scholarship, $250.

Also earning CAC Promise for the Future awards were Hatti Burns, Clarissa Chavez, Kiani Kame, Rodney Ortiz and Erik Rivera.
