Guillermo E. Gomez

  Guillermo E. Gomez “Caballo Blanco” has gone to heaven on May 11, 2017 in Superior, Arizona.  He was born in Mazatlan, Mexico on March 12, 1923.

  He is urvived by his wife of 57 years, Encarnaction; 10 children, Aida Salamon, Malena Miranda, Guillermo Gomez, Mario Gomez, Robert Gomez, Guadalupe Gomez, Luz Sandoval, Patricia Castaneda, Ernesto Gomez and Laura Gomez; and more than 100 grand, great- and great-great-grandchildren.

  He was preceded in death by his mother, father, son, brother and sister.

  Mr. Gomez retired from Magma Copper as a Miner. He came to Superior to work for Magma Copper. He was always dedicated to his family and friends. One of his greatest and proudest accomplishments was receiving his US Citizenship after many years of having his Visa. He was known by the town of Superior as a gentle, kind, helpful, funny, energetic man. Loved cruising the town and even the US 60 greeting anyone that would just listen to his stories.

  Services were held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Superior, AZ.   Visitation was at 9:30 a.m., Rosary was at 10 a.m., Mass at 10:30 a.m., Interment in Fairview Cemetery in Superior, AZ, with Reception following at St. Mary’s Center in Superior, AZ.
