Guadalupe ‘Lupe’ Mariñez

  Guadalupe “Lupe” Mariñez, of Dudleyville, Arizona, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, July 12, 2018.  Lupe was born in Hayden, Arizona on June 8, 1922.  

  Lupe was a lovely person who enjoyed the company of family and friends.  She especially loved cooking, gardening and music.   Lupe was a spiritual person who spent her mornings and evenings in prayer.  

  Lupe is preceded in death by her parents, Demetria Avelar, Laudo Martinez, adopted parents, Francisco, Elena and Loretta Lopez, her husband Jose Mariñez, brother Vaudelio Martinez and sister Esperanza Quesada.  

  Lupe is survived by her son, Wedo Mariñez (Francis Mariñez), daughter Gloria Lopez (Freddy Lopez), 5 grandchildren, Chanito Romero (Ann Romero), Tony Almanza (Valerie Almanza), Joseph Mariñez, Jeanine Mariñez and Jeanette Strickland (Bill Strickland).  10 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and any nieces and nephews.  

  Services for Lupe will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayden on Friday, July 20, 2018.  Viewing will begin at 9 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m.  Luncheon to follow at the Hayden Club House.
