Graduation ceremonies set for Friday

Both Copper Basin area high schools will be holding Commencement ceremonies this Friday, May 24.

Hayden High School seniors will enter Lalo Serrano Memorial Field to the strains of “Pomp and Circumstance” led by Marshalls Francisco A. Bojorqruez Bojorquez and Aaron D. Lagunas.

The National Anthem will be by Marlisse Perez and the Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Hatti Burns and Lainey Lopez followed by the Class Prayer offered by Melissa Islava and Melinda Marinez.

Greetings will be by Kiani Kame followed by introduction of Keynote Speaker Pete Rios.

Class Quotes will be recited by Roman Padilla and Christopher Gomez. The Salutatory Address will then be given by Marlisse Perez followed by the Class Poem presented by Maranda Petty and Edward Aguirre. Excelsior will be next by Edward Aguirre and Laney Lopez. Melinda Marinez will follow with the Valedictory Address.

A special thank you will be said by Kiani Kame and Ashley Cruz followed by the Class History by Alexis Felix and Marlisse Perez and the Class Song will be by Melissa Islava and Adrian Ochoa.

Scholarship presentations are next on the program followed by the presentation of the Class of 2013 and the presentation of diplomas.

Ray High School graduates will enter Dave McFee Memorial Field to “Pomp and Circumstance” played by the Bearcat Band under the direction of Phelan Bauman.

The National Anthem will be sung by the Senior Choir members and the Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Alyssa Dao. The Invocation will be given by Gabrielle Mapes and the Welcome and Introductions will be made by Principal Dr. Robert Dunn.

Special Guest Speaker Dave Orzell, a former RHS principal, will follow.

The Student Council President’s Address by Alyssa Dao is next on the program followed by Valedictorians’ addresses by Harmony Wormwood, Altin Hing and Jesse Molar and the Salutatorian’s address by Haleigh Osborn.

Dr. Robert W. Dunn, Superintendent, will then present the Class of 2013 and diplomas will be presented by members of the School Board.

The Tassel Exchange will be led by Alyssa Dao followed by the Benediction by Ciera Huffman.

The “Bearcat Fight Song” will end the program.
