The Music Ministries of Gold Canyon United Methodist Church perform their 11th annual Choral Christmas Concerts on Saturday, December 8, at 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm in the fabulous acoustics of their 1200-seat Sanctuary. Featured are the Chancel Choir, Canyon Carillon, Agape Brass Quintet, Chanters (Men’s Chorus), Women’s Chorus, Joyful Noise, Youth Handbell Team, Keith Kassner on the timpani, Jill Pack with her harp and the church’s fantastic accompanists, Linda Jones and Nancy Virden. Featured soloists include Cynthia Hoff, soprano, and Don Engbrecht, baritone. Musically there will be something for everyone including Christmas Carols, some old songs like “See What’s Happenin’ in the Barn” and some new ones like “Mary Said Yes!”

Doug Benton, organist and Director of Music Ministries says, “With over 2000 people in attendance at last year’s concerts, this is the largest event we have all year! If you have the option, please come to the 6:30 concert as we completely fill the Sanctuary at 3:00. However, at either concert, come early and be blessed by this great music celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ!” Doors will open one hour prior to each concert and there will be 30 minutes of brass, harp and organ music before each concert to get you in the spirit.

There is no charge for either of these concerts as free will offerings will be received. Everyone is asked to please bring at least one non-perishable food item per person for the Gold Canyon UMC Food Bank. With the current economy being what it is, the need is great! Come, bring your family, friends and neighbors. You will be moved the music and your friends will think you are “the best!”
