Sophia Smith from Oracle traveled to Camp Verde, Ariz. to wrestle in the All-Girls Club Wrestling Championship tournament. She wrestled in the 50-60 pound elementary division. After drawing a bye in the first round, she pinned her opponent, a girl from Laveen, Ariz. in 15 seconds. She pinned her second opponent in one minute and 15 seconds. In the championship match Sophia wrestled a girl from Nevada. While leading 11 to 2, she was able to pin her opponent at the two minute and thirty-second mark. Sophia was not only the Champion in her division but she was named Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.
