Gilbert Placencia, 48, of Gilbert, Arizona passed peacefully on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013.
He was born in Kearny, Arizona in 1965. He graduated in 1983 from the Ray School District, where he met the love of his life, Teri Ann Esquivel. Gilbert and Teri were married on May 25, 1984 and made their home in Gilbert, AZ. He worked 10 years for Arizona State University and for City of Tempe for 18 years.
Gilbert had a love of music, something he shared with his children and grandchildren. But his greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family, especially his three grandsons. His heart and home was always open to anyone needing family.
Gilbert is lovingly remembered by his wife, Teri Ann; children, Gilbert Anthony (Ericca), Melissa Elena, and Alex Michael; and grandsons, Jaden Julian, Jordyn Emiliano, and Apollo Marcelino; parents, Socorro and Romulita; brothers, Johnny (Carmen) and Roy (Terri); nephews, John (Angie), David (Stacey), Tyler, Tannin, Chris (Laura); nieces, Diana, Tayler, Taylor, Mikaela, Aaliyah, and Vida; great-nephews Marcos and Carlos; great-Nieces; Jolene and Serenity; parents-in-law, Gonzalo and Dolores Esquivel; brother-in-law, Gary (Jennelle); sister-in-law, Lori (Roman); and many friends and other family.
Gilbert requested his services be held at the church he and Teri were married in. They were held Saturday, Dec. 28, at Kearny’s Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church. Interment followed at the Mountain View Cemetery in Hayden.
