Gilbert Billy Preciado

, 58, of Superior, Ariz. passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Mesa, Ariz.

Billy was a retired mechanical engineer at Boeing. He was an active member in the community of Superior. From 1995-2001 he served in the capacity of town councilmember, vice mayor and mayor for the Town of Superior. For over a decade he coached girls softball for the Superior Unified School District and the Superior Little League. Billy was also a founding member of the Superior Optimist Club which was founded in 2004. Billy was well known for his generosity with his time and resources to help the youth and those in need everywhere he went.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marcella “Chella” Preciado; daughters, Desi, Angel, Mikee Preciado and Daya Silvas; a granddaughter, Aubry Preciado; his sister JoAnn Besich and dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert “Chino” and Mickey Preciado.

A celebration of life was held at the original Superior High School on Tuesday, May 13, 2014.
