Mammoth– The Arizona Game and Fish Department is offering a reward of up to $1,250 reward for information leading to an arrest in connection with the illegal killing of a young mule deer doe found at the Ralph C. Herrera Shooting Range, located on Copper Creek Road east of River Road.
The deer, killed approximately one month ago, was recovered Thursday behind a berm near the range parking lot. It was bound with hay bale twine and partially butchered.
“Poachers are not hunters, they are thieves stealing wildlife from the citizens of Arizona,” said Regional Supervisor Raul Vega of Game and Fish in Tucson. “It’s illegal and immoral to kill a doe, and leaving the carcass to waste is disgraceful.”
Individual with information about the case are urged to call Operation Game Thief at 1-800-352-0700, 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week, anonymously if need be, and reference OGT#13-002274.
