The Friends of the Kearny Library membership drive is now underway. Copper Basin area residents are invited to join or renew membership in the organization. It’s easy to do. Just send a check of $5 for a single membership or $10 for a family membership to Friends of the Kearny Library, P.O. Box 220, Kearny, Az. 85137 or drop your donation off at the library.

The Friends provide on going physical and financial support for the Kearny Library while also organize and present a variety of programs for Copper Basin residents of all ages.

Used or donated book and DVD’s are also available for purchase at the library throughout the year. These funds along with membership dues are used for buying new books, videos, audio books, supplies and prizes for the pre-school story hour, the annual National Library Week poster contest and the Summer Reading Program.

This past we the group again sold boxes of used children’s books for five dollars a box to the Pinedale Public Library which is a volunteer run library in the making. The Friends have also participated in Pioneer Days, the Electric Light Parade and sponsored the annual Residential Lighting Contest, giving back support to the community that supports them.

Membership in the Friends does not require attendance at the meeting on the second Monday of the month, but all members are encouraged to attend and get involved in one of the many activities available.
