The fourth-ranked San Manuel baseball team traveled to Ray last Friday for a sectional game versus the sixth-ranked Bearcats. The Miners defeated the ‘Cats, 12 – 8.
Both teams entered the game ranked, or “seeded,” in the top 10 in the first release of the state seedings by the AIA.
Both the Miners and the Bearcats have state championship aspirations and this game provided the teams the opportunity to measure up against, what could be, their stiffest competition .
The teams will meet again on April 29, 2014, at San Manuel. That game is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
Upcoming schedule: Apr. 11 vs. Pima and Apr. 16 @ Superior. Both games begin at 2:00 p.m.
