On Nov. 20, 2012 at 11:53 p.m., the San Manuel Fire Department received an emergency call reporting a trailer fire on the 500 block ofVista Sierra Street.

The fire department arrived within five minutes and found the trailer located at 512 Vista sierra totally engulfed in flames. Within minutes, the 10 firefighters on site had the single alarm fire under control.

Fire Chief John said that the mop up action took a lot longer as “there was quite a bit of combustible material in the house.” At 3 a.m., the fire was completely out and the firefighters left the scene. During the mopping up action inside the home, the burned bodies of a dog and cat were found.

The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen area. The renter of the trailer said that she had awoken to the fire in the kitchen and had exited the trailer.
