Evangelina Cruz

  Evangelina Cruz, 87, passed away on June 22, 2017 at Osborn Hospital in Scottsdale from septic shock.
  She  is survived by her husband Gilbert; son Leonard (Linda); daughters: Sue, Cindy and Karen; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers Benny Perez and Robert Alvarez.
   A native of Arizona, Eva was born in Miami, and grew up in Superior before making the Valley her home. After graduating from Superior High School, She was a housewife whose kitchen was never closed. She loved cooking, baking and spending summers in Show Low. Eva also  was a long-time member of the Elks, El Groupo, Superiorities and Las Damas del Valle.

  Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 141 N. MacDonald in Mesa. A reception will follow after the service 

  Visit legacy.com to view entire obituary and leave a message in the guestbook. In lieu of flowers, contributions to her memory can be made to Las Damas del Valle Scholarship, ℅ Terry Ramos, 2430 E. Cathedral Rock Drive in Phoenix ; or, the Arizona Humane Society at azhumane.org.
