Disappointed in the override outcome

The early morning after.  After the loss of the Oracle Elementary School District 2 override election.  What is a person to think?

It would be smart to believe in educating our children.  The tax is already in place – it’s not a new tax:  $28.00 a year for a $100,000 home.  Truthfully, it’s almost $29.00.  A small price to pay to have teachers and equipment to help our children.  Children are our future and if people can’t understand that, I don’t get it.

Arizona is 47th in the nation for the amount of money it spends on educating each child.  This is no surprise.  And I called the AZ Dept of Education to verify this is true.  How sad.  How tragic.  How disgusting.

How embarrassing?  But do the folks in AZ really care?  Obviously not.

I hope the folks who didn’t vote for the override come to their senses some day.  But it just makes those of us who did vote yes stronger – we will try even harder to make our District the best, and our children the best.  It won’t stop us in doing what is right and best for our young ones.
