On March 23, at 4:30 a.m., PCSO deputies arrested an adult male and a juvenile male near Copper Mine Road and Hunt Highway. The two were connected to a series of calls to PCSO just after midnight, reporting suspicious persons in a residential garage and running through backyards in the Magma Ranch subdivision. The suspects were arrested for 1st degree burglary and trespassing. The PCSO emergency call center received the first call at 12:25 a.m., reporting that two males had gotten into an open garage on E. Primrose Lane and the homeowner had chased them from the property. A second caller on E. Sunflower Lane reported two males running into his back yard. He confronted the two males and they told him they were being chased. The two men then fled in to another back yard. Jordan Baldwin PCSO deputies searched the area and were unable to immediately locate the two suspects, however, at about 4:30 a.m., a caller reported two suspicious persons at the Chevron station on Copper Mine Road.
The description matched the ones given by the homeowners a few hours prior. Sheriff Paul Babeu said, “The deputies found one of the suspects, 18-year-old Jordan Baldwin, was armed with a loaded Ruger pistol and the other, a 16-year-old male, was intoxicated. Both persons were interviewed and Baldwin admitted to stealing the pistol from a vehicle in Magma Ranch a few hours earlier. Both suspects admitted to being chased from the garage on Primrose Lane and nearby The deputy that arrested Baldwin listed on court paperwork prior arrest for shoplifting, assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and false reporting. Superior Court Commissioner is Dwight Callahan set a $5000 bond for the following charges; three counts of 1st Degree Trespassing, 2 counts of 1st Degree Burglary, one count of Misconduct Involving a Weapon, Possession of Marijuana, Theft of a Firearm, Trafficking in Stolen Property and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
