David Ybarra Sr., 51, of San Tan Valley, AZ passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Banner Ironwood Medical Center, San Tan Valley, AZ.

David was born to Manuel and Elena Ybarra on Aug. 3, 1963 in Superior, Arizona. David was the second to the youngest of seven children. He is now with his father and brother Manuel. He will be missed by his big brothers George, Jesse, Willy, his sister Helen, and his little brother Ruben.

David and his wife Carol Ybarra were married on Dec. 10, 1983 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Superior, Arizona. They have two children, David Jr. and Sandra Elizabeth. David Jr. is married to Mechelle and together they have two kids, David III and Isabella Dolores.

Chief Petty Officer (Surface Warfare/ Aviation Warfare) Ybarra proudly served in the United States Navy for 24 years. He enlisted as a Boiler Technician then later became a Career Counselor. He was stationed on the USS Constellation, USS Dixon, Naval Recruiting District San Diego/ Naval Recruiting Station East Mesa, USS Cape Cod, USS Elliot, Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Guam, Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 11, and the USS Peleliu.

After retiring from the military, David began a second career as a correctional officer with Corrections Corporation of America/ Central Arizona Detention Center.

Besides his family, there is nothing more he loved then a STRONG cup of NAVY coffee. In his time here with us he has touched so many lives. He will be loved and missed by all.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Superior, AZ. With a viewing at 9 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Superior, AZ. A luncheon will be hosted at Los Hermanos Hall, Superior, AZ.
