September 11, 1953 – August 24, 2012

Darlene Ilene Blank, 58, of San Manuel, AZ passed away on August 24, 2012 at her home peacefully surrounded by her family.

Darlene was born the daughter of Cecil and Doris Payne on September 11, 1953 in Leadville, Colorado. Darlene married Charles Howard Blank on December 12, 1970 in San Manuel at the Assembly of God Church. Darlene received her Bachelor in Education for U of A and her Masters in Leadership from NAU with Phi Theta Kappa. Darlene worked as a teachers’s aid and then as a school teacher with the fifth grade and then the third grade. She loved teaching and being with children.

Darlene loved her family…they were her life! She also enjoyed to sew, embroider and crafts with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in San Manuel and love and believed deeply in the Lord.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Charley Blank of San Manuel; children, Charlene Blank of Buckeye, Michael and Tai Blank of Mammoth and Jason Blank of San Manuel; grandchildren, Kelsey and Colten Smith, Cody Bibb, Danielle, Tiahna and Amethyst Blank and Kiah Blank; siblings, Dickie Payne, Bonnie Payne, Claudine Payne and Billy Payne. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandchild, Dustyn Blank; and sister, Sissy Payne.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 1, at 10 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church, 201 East Main Street, San Manuel. An online guestbook may be signed at www.griffithmortuary.com.
