There is nothing better than inspecting an ‘excellent’ laboratory,” stated Jean Ball, MBA, MLT (ASCP), MT (HEW) and an inspector for the College of American Pathologists (CAP) during her two-day inspection of the CVRMC Laboratory facility.

CAP is the leading organization of board-certified pathologists, which serves patients, pathologist and the public by fostering and advocating excellence in the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine.

“Compliments to Dr. Sajit Vinayak (Pathologist), Traci Stewart (Lab Director) and her staff for getting it done at a very high level in both the patient care area and the regulatory requirements needed,” Ball said.

CAP is the provider of all components of quality management including quality systems, standard setting, technical procedures and comprehensive and integrated programs. There are over 1600 checks, a blueprint of quality practices, a facility must go through to ensure excellence in patient safety and compliance.

“The College of American Pathologists appreciates the service this lab gives to your patients. It is not very often we see a facility with this level of compliance,” Ball said.
