County RICO funds donated for San Manuel Elks’ Project Graduation; other charities receive much needed help

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu presented $10,000 in RICO funds to the community on Friday, April 12. The Sheriff accompanied by Sergeant Lupe Ibarra and new Director of Community Relations Paula Pollock met with representatives of the San Manuel Elks Lodge and Adelante Juntos at the El Centro Youth Center.

Babeu presented a check for $5,000 to Tom Miller and new Exalted Ruler Sam Pyritz. The money, along with $5,001 donated by Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles, will allow the Elks to go forward with Project Graduation.

The Sheriff then presented another check for $5,000 to the El Centro Youth Center. Marie Roybal from Copper Town Association accepted the check on behalf of the center as Betty Chavez was out of town. Babeu also spoke with the kids at the center and introduced the United Dance Crew from Coolidge. The United Dance Crew performed some skits, danced and spread some positive messages self esteem and making good choices.

The kids and adults in the audience, enjoyed the show. Paula Pollock and some kids then delivered pizzas and soda for everyone, provided by the Sheriff.
