FLORENCE – Supervisor Pete Rios and the Pinal County Public Works  Department are reminding residents to break down their cardboard boxes  when they take them to a county recycling bin.

“Constituents in Kearny recently reported seeing a number of large  cardboard boxes discarded around the recycling bins and in the surrounding  area,” Supervisor Rios said. “It’s unsightly and unacceptable.  Please flatten your cardboard boxes and place them inside the bin. This  allows more recycling material to fit in there.”

Rios said that the bins are placed there as a courtesy to local  residents to encourage them to recycle instead of dumping them in  landfills.

“The last thing we want to see is for our recycling bins to become an  eyesore. We don’t want continuing complaints from residents and merchants, to force removal of the bins,” he added.
