The old Steward House welcomed a number of interested people looking for a health care facility for family members. Now called Grace Manor, it is an assisted living and respite home for those people that need care in their older years.
Despite the snow on Saturday, people came to tour the facility which is owned and operated by Jodie Gillies. Grace Manor has always been a dream of Gillies’.
Gillies said she believes she has a calling to be in this line of work. She says she has been given a gift which is working with the elderly, whether as an advocate or taking care of them.
“I feel it is an honor to be with our elder generation and learn from what they had to go through in their lives,” Gillies said. She has a great love and respect for the elderly and looks forward to taking care of them at Grace Manor.
Thanks to the support of her husband, Richard, her dream has come true. Richard has done a tremendous job working on and renovating the historic home.
She also has received help and support from her family: parents DeOtis and Jerry Kent, sister Leasa Hogan, brother Chris Kent, three sons and two step children who have helped work and supported the project.
This home will provide a safe and healthy environment and the residents will be treated with the utmost respect and dignity. If you have a loved one in need of care, contact Jodie at (520) 896-3131 or gracemanor.jodie@gmail.com.
