This weekend, a crew of volunteers collected over 40 cubic yards of used tires from around the community. This free tire pickup day was a joint venture of the Superior Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Superior, and represents the first use of our transfer station after nearly four years of inactivity. This was the first of a series of community cleanup events at the transfer station.

With the enthusiastic crew it took less than 2 hours to fill an entire 40 yard roll off!  Volunteers included Town Manager Todd Pryor, Councilwoman elect Vanessa Navarette and husband Martin, Councilman elect Bruce Armitage, Code Enforcement Officer Angela Gill with Superior PD Reserve Officers Marsden and Halstead, Superior High School student Ashley Graham and many others.

Thanks to Supervisor Pete Rios and others at the County, the tire bin was made available to Superior residents at no charge.

  Kudos to all!

On Nov. 5, another cooperative effort of the Chamber and the town will lead to a free cleanup day for municipal and green waste to celebrate the Transfer Station’s grand opening. Household waste and appliances and clean yard waste will be accepted free of charge for the entire day on a first come first served basis. The town has arranged for 10 roll-off containers, and no more trash will be accepted after they are full. No construction waste will be allowed on the free dump day. There is no limit on the amount of green waste you may bring, but it must be clean of any other form of waste.

Rebuilding Superior one project at a time.  Be a part of it!  Call the Chamber of Commerce for more information and to find out how you can help, 520-689-0200.
