Christopher is survived by his wife, Maria Elda; daughter, Monique Martinez; son, Rex Christopher Martinez; step-daughters: Barbara Valdes, Leticia De Los Reyes, and Patricia Carrillo; and 10 grandchildren.
Having served 25 years, he was a veteran of the Vietnam and Desert Storm Wars where he earned several medals, including the Purple Heart and the Army Commendation Medal. He grew up in Hayden, Ariz. and later moved to Kearny, Ariz. He was the only son of the late Manuel and Carlotta Martinez.
Christopher enjoyed and took joy in many things in life, including hunting, watching football and baseball and being the life of the party.
Funeral services are on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 at St Joseph Catholic Church, Hayden, Ariz. Mass is at 10 a.m., Rosary is at 9:30 a.m., and Visitation is at 8:30 a.m. Burial is at the Kearny Cemetery, Kearny, Ariz. to follow. Online Guestbook: www.GriffithMortuary.com.
