PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. – Beginning with the second 2013 summer session, Central Arizona College will begin a new process called The Purge.
The purge will automatically withdraw registered students from the classes who have not paid their tuition and fees in full for the upcoming term.
The deadline for a student to avoid being purged for the second summer session is Thursday, May 30, even though the term begins July 1. The purge date for the fall 2013 semester is July 18, with the semester starting after 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 16.
“The purpose of the purge is to support student success and completion,” Veronica Duran, CAC’s registrar, explained. “In implementing the purge, we as a college are improving processes to encourage our students to be prepared and ready to learn day one.”
Students unable to pay their tuition and fees in full do have options available to them such as financial aid and payment plans, so long as they seek these options in advance. Waiting to seek such options after the purge day will result in loss of registration.
The payment deadlines for each academic term can be found in the academic calendar under the academics section of the college website: www.centralaz.edu.
