Clarification
The VFW Pedro Reynoso Post 2767 of Mammoth, in fact, placed the flags on the graves including four flags at the old Mammoth cemetery. The VFW held a ceremony at the cemetery on May 30, Memorial Day, beginning with reading the names of the fallen military out loud. The Chaplain, Lloyd Bradshaw recited In Flanders Fields. The flags were placed on the graves and then the American Flag was raised on the flagpole at the cemetery.
We thank the members of the VFW for their service both in the military and now, caring for the fallen.
The Mammoth swimming pool offered a free day of swimming and the Lions Club volunteers served free hot dogs to everyone. The free swim day was sponsored by the Town of Mammoth and San Pedro Valley Lions Club.
