Celebrate Queen Creek’s Anniversary at the Founders’ Day Festival, Sept. 26

Come celebrate Queen Creek’s 26th anniversary at a family-friendly community event in Founders’ Park. Enjoy fun activities, great music and entertainment, and experience the Battle of the Badge at the Founders’ Day celebration. Presented by Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, the event will be held Saturday, Sept. 26 from 5-9 p.m. at Founders Park, 22407 S. Ellsworth Road.

Featuring events for all ages, visitors will have an opportunity to help earn points for Queen Creek Fire and Medical (QCFM) or the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) as they compete in the Battle of the Badge. Participant relays include potato sack races, obstacle courses, giant adult tricycles, javelin toss and more. Wristbands to participate in the Battle of Badge competitions are $5. Additional activities include jumpers and pony rides. Wristbands to participate in the Battle of the Badge competitions and the additional activities are $7. QCFM and MCSO will take the stage at 7:15 p.m. for their competitions.

FD dateBeginning at 6 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to pick the winning pig. There will be four pig races; individuals can select the swiftest swine in each of the races. Everyone who picks the winning pig will receive one raffle ticket. Races will be held every 15 minutes with fun activities between each race including seed spitting, pig calling and pig trivia. Pigs can be selected up until five minutes before the race begins with the last call for picking the winning pig at 6:55 p.m.
