Candelario ‘Cande’ E. Guzman

  Candelario “Cande” E. Guzman, 90, passed away with his family by his side at his residence in Superior, AZ on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019. He was born on March 4, 1929 in Casa Grande, AZ to the late Abram Guzman Sr. and Rosa Marie Estrada. 

  Cande was drafted by the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict as a combat engineer. After serving two years, he as honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. He attained employment with Southern Pacific Railroad from which he retired after 42 years. 

  Cande was preceded in death by his sisters, Connie, Socorro, Ruth and Jessie; brothers, Salvador (Chavo) and Leo; daughter, Anna Marie Guzman; and granddaughter, Priscilla Guzman Perez. He is survived by his wife, Martha B. (Duarte) Guzman; sons, Eric (Natalie) Guzman, Sammy Guzman, Leonard (Jaque) Guzman and Candelario Guzman Jr.; daughters, Rebecca “Becky” (Joe) Vasquez, Cuz “Dolly” (Gaby) Cons, Grace (Ray) Perez and Candida Guzman; sister, Tonia Ronquillo; and brother, Abram Guzman Jr.  He also leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.  

  Services for Cande will be held Friday, Nov. 22, 2019 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., followed by Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery. 

  The family was assisted with exceptional service by Superior Funeral Home.
