Bundle up for Miracle on Main St. this Saturday

Bundle up for the 10th Annual Miracle on Main St. Temperatures are expected to be in 40s to high 30s on Saturday evening.

The annual parade and festival kicks off the holiday season on with food and game booths, entertainment by Baile Folklorico Alma de Superior with Christmas tunes being played by Manny Guzman IV and of course the light parade that will begin at 7 p.m. on Main St. Groups throughout the community have all come together to sponsor this event in conjunction with the Superior Optimist Club. Following the parade Santa will be meeting with children at the Besich Park gazebo.

Leading the parade this year as the Optimist Club Community Champion is Red Bear Outfitters. This community group is being recognized by the Superior Optimist Club for their ongoing support and dedication to the community. They will also be presented with a proclamation by the Superior Town Council on Thursday. Parade line up will start at 5:30 p.m. at the John F. Kennedy Elementary school parking lot. The Optimist Club is still taking entries for the parade, the theme this year is “A Christmas to Remember” you can enter the parade form online at http://conta.cc/1clCsua

Game and food booths will open at 3 p.m. on Main St. Baile Folklorico will kick off the entertainment at 3 p.m. with an hour-long performance. Several student groups will be selling food and drinks so bring your wallets and enjoy some holiday treats. The Superior Little League will be selling hamburgers, the Junior Class will be selling Hot Dogs, Pretzels, Nachos and both hot and cold drinks and the Sophomore class will be selling baked goods and popcorn. The Junior High Student Council will be selling raffle tickets, and the Optimist Club will be having a basket raffle booth. Any other local youth groups wishing to sell items at the event should contact the Superior Optimist Club.
