The Knights of Columbus traveling horseshoe trophy will stay in the Tri-Community thanks to the throwing of Jerry Bribiescas and Roberto Estrada competing against teams from three different districts in southern Arizona last Saturday at St. Bartholomew’s Horseshoe Arena in San Manuel. Estrada also won the ringers contest after the tournament.

“This traveling trophy tournament was a dream of Bob Hamill, past Grand Knight and former District Deputy, to build fraternity and unity between Knights in our area,” said Drew Mansager, District 6 Deputy.

Current Grand Knight, Johnnie Seballos, said, “A lot of Knights from our council pitched in to make this a success and I thank them.

“From cleaning the horse shoe area, to providing food and music as well as preparing the area with flags, tables, chairs and shade the team work really paid off,” Seballos said.

“We were very pleased to have brother Knights from District 16 and District 4 attend the tournament,” he added.

The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic family, fraternal organization. With nearly 2 million members it is the largest Catholic lay organization in the world.
