San Manuel Miner

A total of ten teams competed at the 26th Annual San Manuel Cross Country Invitational. Both Miners’ teams finished in fourth place at the meet. Safford finished first in the girls’ competition and San Carlos won the boy’s competition.

Varsity medalists for the Miners included Patrick Lopez (8th), Juan Ortega (12th), James Duarte (14th), and Andrea Castaneda (9th).

Junior varsity medalists for the Miners included Tylo Montes (4th) and Carlos Salas (6th).

A total of 50 boys’ runners ran in the race with four more Miners placing: Colton Stratton (23rd), Jared Gonzales (39th), Michael Sanchez (42nd), and Andres Rodriguez (46th).

There were 42 girls’ runners with another four Miners placing: Jessica Lopez (22nd), Diana Median (26th), Rebekah Messing (29th), and Yesenia Arcienega (31st).

The Miners next meet is September 20 in Tucson at the Old Pueblo Invitational.
