Geri Romero of Sole to Soul Awakenings

Geri and Jody Romero opened Sole to Soul Awakenings two years ago on Magma Ave.  Their store features a wide variety of services and products to create a lifestyle of wellness and healing.  Geri began learning about holistic healing when her mom became ill.

“I wanted to help her feel better without interfering with her medicines and other treatments. So, I learned about reflexology and then I just couldn’t stop learning more about it,” she explained.

Once Geri immersed herself in reflexology and other healing processes she wanted to open a store to focus on these wellness services.

“I had a dream that said I should put my store in the east,” Geri said. So she thought it might be Apache Junction or East Mesa.  When she came up to Superior to visit her sister, she realized the mountains behind her store were in her original dream.  “I knew this is where we were supposed to open the store, so we contacted the building owner and rented the storefront,” she said.

Sole to Soul Awakenings offers many wellness products like Himalayan Salt Rock Lamps, essential oils, candles, sage as well as other jewelry and home decor.  You can also take yoga classes or attend a twice monthly women’s dance movement class.  They also have foot detox and a salt detox sauna that can be reserved. Throughout the year, the store hosts different wellness classes along with gifts and blessings events.

If relaxation is part of your wellness plan, you can make appointments for massages, reflexology, reiki, and also skin care such as facials and waxing with Superior Skin Care. Appointments are required for those services since each service provider works on different days.  The store is open Thursday through Sunday in the Summer and Wednesday through Sunday in the Winter.

Geri’s advice to her fellow entrepreneurs and future business owners: “When things look tough, keep going.  We have to manifest our dreams,” she explained.
