Just a few short years ago – Superior and the Copper Corridor region welcomed Gemini Hospice and Outreach to the region. Their services have helped dozens of families over the years to keep their loved ones comfortable during the end of life stage. Today the team at Gemini continues to offer the quality services and education with integrity and compassion as they transition into a new brand, Reflections Hospice and Palliative Care. The palliative care services are a lighter version of hospice services that can help people who are going through aggressive treatments for Cancer or other life threatening illnesses.
A few months ago, the family that owned Gemini Hospice sold to Centrix Health Resources. Centrix has a multitude of services that they plan to roll out into the region in the coming year including Doves Home Senior Care, medical equipment and Sunrise Health Services.
Gemini Outreach doing business as Reflections Hospice offers many unique outreach services that typical hospice services do not. Those outreach services include art therapy during their First Friday socials, pet therapy, in home blood pressure checks along with Lunch and Learn Education and Blood Pressure Clinics at the Superior Arboretum Apartments, Madera Peak Vista Apartments in Globe, Pleasant Valley Mobile Home Park in San Tan Valley, Norm’s IGA in Kearny and Senior Centers in Superior, Hayden, Kearny, Miami and Globe.
One unique service that is available at the Gemini Outreach office in Superior is the Pay-It-Forward room. The staff keeps a room that has donated clothes, durable medical equipment like shower chairs, wheelchairs, walkers and other basic medical equipment that is lightly used and donated to the room. They also have some household items and medical supplies. “If someone is in need of these types of items, stop in and check it out,” said Connie Perez, a team member at Gemini. The staff at Gemini also provides resources to Veterans through their Veterans outreach services, locally they support the Superior VFW by assisting with their events and they also hosted a special pin ceremony for local Vets.
“We provide many of these outreach and education services for free as a service to the communities we serve,” said Elizabeth Magallanez, a Community Educator for Gemini. Hospice services are funded through Medicare insurances, when in need of those services it is important to understand how the benefit can be used. The outreach activities help the company to educate consumers on the benefit.
As the name of the company changes and new services are added to the service area by Centrix Health Resources, residents can continue to count on the quality and compassionate services that have always been a core value for the team at Gemini.
