The Benson football team showed why it’s ranked in the top 10 of the 2A Conference after soundly defeating winless San Manuel 64 – 8 last Friday night, spoiling the Miners’ Homecoming.
The Miners, which have now lost seven-straight games, continued a season-long pattern – very little offense and even less on defense. That combination makes it tough to pick up wins.
Benson raced out to a 28 – 6 lead at the end of the first quarter and cruised from there, outscoring the Miners 36 – 0 during the final three quarters.
The Miners will host Willcox this Friday in their final home game of the season.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
