Barbra ‘Boots’ O’Donnell

Barbra “Boots” O’Donnell passed away April 29, 2017, in Phoenix, AZ. She was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Miami, AZ to Francis and Lois Stone. She was the baby of three, with her sister, Lois, and brother, Francis. She grew up in Superior, married her childhood sweetheart, John O’Donnell, Aug. 28, 1948, in Bakersfield, CA.

She was a nurse for many years and raised 11 children in Superior and Casa Grande, AZ. She never missed a game, diving meet, play or activity her children participated in throughout their school years. She was an avid scorekeeper and enjoyed sharing her unique scoring ability with each child. No doubt, any child that was at her home ate, played and was loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church on May 19 at 11 a.m.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, John; children, John, Jim, Tom, Catherine, Tim, Lois, Pat, Michael, Mary Ann, Joe and Danny; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014
