Barbie and Marty Woods
Barbie Woods, 48, and Marty Woods, 40, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on June 26, 2013. Barbie was born in Kearny, Arizona on Nov. 16, 1964, the daughter of the late James and Shirley (Hodge) Toon. Marty was born on Oct. 31, 1972 in Globe, Arizona, the son of Dan and Sylvia (Estrada) Woods.
Barbie and Marty got remarried on October 13, 2007 in Gilbert. They couldn’t stand to be apart and realized they were truly meant to be together. The two were very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with their grandson. Barbie was always a hostess; she will be remembered hosting large Thanksgiving dinners where she invited her extended family and friends to her home. Together they enjoyed day trips, photography, yard sales, and traveling, especially to San Diego.
Barbie and Marty were very giving and had big hearts. There is nothing they wouldn’t have done for their family and friends and they always put others’ needs before themselves. That idea continued even to the end, as both Barbie and Marty were organ donors and gave one last gift to those who needed it the most.
Barbie and Marty are survived by their children, Stephanie Kraus (Chris) and Brandon Harmon; and grandsons, Jacob Kraus and Baby Boy Kraus due in September. They are also survived by Marty’s parents, Sylvia and Dan Wood Sr.; Barbie’s sister, Debra Parra (Pancho); Marty’s brother, Dan Woods Jr.; Marty’s grandparents, Adeline Estrada; Edith Martindale; and Bob Woods Sr. (Judy); nephews, Michael Parra and Gene Woods; nieces, Breezy Woods and Tippy Woods. They are preceded in death by Barbie’s parents, James and Shirley Toon.
Funeral Services for Barbie and Marty are pending. Please contact Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care at (480) 830-4422 for service information. Services will be held at Spring of Life Christian Church, 1330 South Crismon Road, Mesa, Arizona 85209. Interment will follow at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park, 6747 East Broadway Road, Mesa, Arizona 85206.
