Babette Q Dougherty 53 passed away October 9, 2012; after a long fought battle with illness. She was born August 13, 1959 in Clearfield, PA. She graduated top of her class with a B.A in Art and M.A in Education, she enjoyed a long career as an educator and artist.
She influenced the lives of many children and the art community at large. Babette will be missed. We will remember her love, strength and kind heart. Babette is survived by her loving husband Danny Dougherty; children Tamyia Benavidez (Tamyia’s significant other Brett Masek), and Dusty Dougherty; her grandchild Nicholas Benavidez; sister Jamie (Pat) Blute and nieces Sarah, and Olivia.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to ChildrensMuseumTucson.org or TucsonMuseumofArt.org.
A potluck celebration of her life will be held 1 p.m., Sat., Oct. 20, 2012 at the Oracle Park 301 N. Evergreen Dr. in Oracle.
