Avelino Martinez Vindiola

was born on Nov. 5, 1922 in Klondyke, AZ to Jesus and Teresa Vindiola. He passed away Aug. 18, 2015

He was raised with eight brothers and two sisters. He served as a Corporal in the Army 477th Field Artillary Batallion during World War II. In 1948, he married the love of his life, Ysaura (Chawa) Orozco, and they were happily married for 67 years.

He built a life for his family in Mammoth, Arizona and in later years lived in Pinetop, Arizona. Throughout his life, he worked as a miner, farmer, rancher, wood worker, trapper, fisherman and hunter. He was a loving brother, father and grandfather.

Avelino is survived by his wife, Ysaura; and four children, Rosie (Jack), Rudy (Gloria), Richard, and Robert. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He will be missed but forever in our hearts.

Services were held Aug. 22 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Mammoth. Interment followed at Valley View Cemetery in Mammoth.
