Aurelio “Cheppie” Martinez passed away on April 4, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona.
He was born Dec. 15, 1930 in Sonora, Arizona to Angelina (Chata) Anaya and Robert Martinez.
Cheppie worked for Kennecott Copper Company for 35 years.
Loved by his family and many friends, Cheppie is survived by his wife, Hope Martinez; daughter, Carmen (Ted) Loroña; son, Jimmy (Jessica) Martinez; granddaughter, Nicole Loroña; one sister and four brothers.
Services were held on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Mass was celebrated by Father James Aboyi in Superior, Arizona.
Cheppie was an exceptional baseball player, avid golfer, enjoyed his horses and loved having a good time with everyone.
He will be missed.
