Audree Lois Saxerud Corwin age 78 of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away at 9:30 a.m. Oct.20, 2012 at Spohn South Hospital in Corpus Christi Texas.
Audree was born July 28, 1934 in Carrington North Dakota to Hamlin and Mae Saxerud. She grew up in Cooperstown North Dakota where she attended school graduating from Cooperstown High School in 1952 lettering in baton as well a serving as a lifeguard in the community.
She was united in marriage for 27 years to Richard Corwin on the July 25, 1954 in Cooperstown. They eventually settled in San Manuel, Arizona in 1957 raising two children and residing there until June of 2012.
Audree worked for the San Manuel Public School district as an administrative assistant in the superintendent’s office for 18 years until her retirement in 1998. She was currently residing with her son Tim (Dorothy) in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Audree’s hobbies included knitting, puzzling, furniture restoration and the volunteer work she did at the elementary school reading lab and the public library. She was a member of the San Manuel senior center and her favorite activity was playing Bridge; she played at both the San Manuel and Oracle senior centers.
Audree is survived by a daughter Tamra of Koloa Hawaii and a son Tim (Dorothy) of Corpus Christi; grandchildren Jamie Cortez (Rodolfo), Mike Pagatpapan, Tim Corwin Jr., Tara Corwin all of Texas, and Nikki of Koloa Hawaii; a brother Morrie (JoAnn) Saxerud of Lisbon North Dakota.; several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Gerald Saxerud, a sister Marion Radcliff, and a brother Kenneth Saxerud.
Funeral services were held Oct. 27 2012 at the Cage-Mills Funeral home in Corpus Christi Texas attended by family with clergy services provided by Pastor Kenny Eiben. Burial will be at the Cemetery in Courtenay North Dakota.
Mrs. Corwin’s family will always remember Jenise Marshall for taking care of her in times of need; and all of the members of the San Manuel and Oracle Senior centers for the special bridge session prior to her departure to Texas.
